| At the Club's Annual General Meeting on 19 May 2009, the Chairman, Lord Cope proposed on behalf of the General Committee that the Club's second President should be The Rt Hon The Baroness Thatcher LG OM FRS. Members attending the Meeting unanimously agreed to this appointment which takes effect immediately. |

| On Tuesday 24 June 2008, eight Lady Associate Members of the Club converted to Ordinary Membership. The first lady to be elected as an Ordinary Member was The Rt Hon Ann Widdecombe MP. |
