About the Carlton Club
The History of the Carlton Club
Founded in 1832 in the aftermath of the victory of the reforming party, The Carlton Club was designed as a party political organisation, just as other clubs after the Napoleonic War were founded to satisfy particular interests.
Facilities at The Club
The Club is able to offer a full range of facilities including private function rooms for lunches, dinners, receptions and meetings.
Membership
The Rules of the Club state that only persons of full age who support the Conservative Party shall be eligible for membership. Applicants for membership need a proposer and seconder who have been members for at least two years and have known them for at least two years. It may be possible to apply for membership if you have only a proposer and no seconder.
