While our attention might have been somewhat diverted to events at home, the war in Syria continues to provide a focus for all main world powers, and a major threat to the security in the Middle East. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is crucial to the future of the Middle East, despite its role and influence does not engage in flashy publicity stunts and so we are very privileged to have the Saudi Ambassador in London brief members and their guests on position of his country.. Previously the Saudi Ambassador to Italy and Malta, the Prince graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington DC and the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
The Ambassador will be joined by Crispin Blunt MP, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Commons. Crispin graduated Wellington College and The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was a Captain in the Army and served as Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice. He is a former joint chair of the Council for the Advancement of Arab-British Understanding.
